White Roses of Hope

Jan 15, 2020

The cries of lonely, grieving people are heard on every street

     and every corner

     My heart breaks for those who are hurting;

I weep with those who weep

And sometimes – many times- I just don’t know what more I can do.

If I had a magic wand I would spend hours touching people with it

just to encourage them to keep on keeping on.

That’s an interesting phrase, isn’t it?

    Keep on keeping on.

Sometimes I think I do it well

And other times not so well.

But no matter how limited I am

No matter how worn out and weary

I remember that we have a God

Who is the God of all Hope.

And although I live day after day with limits

I serve a God Who has endless Love and Grace for all.

So how do I reach my world with that Good News?

We must keep pressing forward in a world that is filled with sadness.

   So, today

an ordinary Wednesday filled with many appointments and things to do

as I was going through my day’s activities

  the thought came to me.

   Roses.

   White roses.

Symbols of hope in this New Year.

So I went out to the nearby store and purchased…..

  You guessed it. White roses.

And passed out one rose at a time.

   God is alive.

   He does care.

   He sees your deepest need.

   He knows your aching heart.

And He’s the One Who reaches out to each one of us

   In love today.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.    Romans 15:3

Yes, I’d love to cover our world with white roses

   Reminding people everywhere

   The young and old

The rich and the less fortunate

Those who are sick and those who are brimming with health right now

That there is One Who cares for you.

And He wants a personal relationship with you.

He is the One Who breathes into our weary frames

   words of everlasting Hope.

Yes, there are people all around us who need to know.

Join me in telling them this Good News, won’t you?

    There is always hope.

No matter how difficult your situation.

Jesus loves you. And He gives to you —Hope.
