Shining Moments

Nineteen years ago today my life changed but I did not know it.

God is like that so often, isn’t He? Lovingly working behind the scenes

pouring into our lives just the gifts that He has chosen for us.

Keeping His Hand on the pressures, the hardships

    always loving

My life had come to an ending of sorts.

Although the tears had stopped

the heartache would always be there

Those deep down desires painfully ached to be filled.

But I knew that God is always Faithful.

I knew that He would never fail me even if for the rest of my life

I never had what I thought was so important to me.

I signed up to take a Precept Bible study course

     on Habakkuk.

At least it was something to do, I thought.

Little did I know how God would use that class in my life.

Week after week I poured over verses while my heart slowly healed.

These verses clung to me in Habakkuk 3:17, 18

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines,

Though the olive crops fail and the fields produce no food. Though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls.

Yet I will rejoice in my Lord I will be joyful in God my Savior.

And I clung to them as for my very life.

At the last day of the study I shared how very much these verses had come to mean to me.

They had breathed life into my broken heart.

They had given me a purpose and a hope.

I chose to rejoice,

                to praise,

to renew my devotion to the One Who Loved me with a forever Love.

It was months later when I began the process of adoption

hardly considering that God might choose fit to bless me.

And in record time, the adoption was processed and I was flying to Russia

to meet and hold Noelle for the first time.

Her birthday shines with God’s Grace and Love.

At a time when I laid it all down at His feet

He created this marvelous bundle of life

To show me again and again and again

That no matter how difficult this life becomes

His Love is Forever…

Let that fill your heart today as it does mine.

His Love for you is Forever. Nothing can ever separate you from His Love.

     And no one.

He used a precious little baby girl to show me His Love in a tangible way.

And all the glory goes to Him.

Happy Birthday,

Let’s Go Fly A Kite

It’s just been one of those days.

Problems to solve.

Errands to run.

In and out. In and out.

But in the midst of all the ordinary I am surrounded by this amazing beauty called Spring.

There is absolutely no way that the noise of continual challenges can distract me from

drinking in the beauty of all the blooming tulips and primroses and magnolias.

Strange how man can not see it.

It’s as if all of nature is shouting ALIVE but so many pass by oblivious to it.

Yesterday I cam home to the sight of branches of our gorgeous pink plum tree on the ground.

Seems like someone wanted them cut. While I wanted to take more pictures.

Strange, don’t you think? It hurt.

But life is filled with contradictions like that.

Some see holy ground while others walk on by.

Some hear the hush of angels’ wings while others walk on by.

Some stop and listen to the early morning birds singing their hearts out.

While others don’t even notice.

I pray for open ears and eyes and hearts.

I pray for the ability to notice what is invisible.

To lift the load of care from the one quietly burdened.

Spring is the time to push back from the routine and go fly a kite.

For just a few days the weather sparkles so give yourself permission to play.

Yes, grab your kite and go outside.

Bask in the beauty and drink in the wonder.

Walk outside late at night and count the stars.

Don’t put it off until tomorrow.

Find a child and play in the springtime.

Remember, happy are those who see the gift of Spring and enjoy it to their heart’s delight.
