Her work involves many different aspects, some of which include counseling, coaching, and consulting as well as writing and speaking to groups on a variety of inspirational topics. Some of her popular topics are health and wellness, navigating transitions in life, spiritual formation, and parenting. She is an enthusiastic advocate for all those involved with adoption.
Sharon is the mother of two daughters whom she adopted from Russia. As a nurturer she is well equipped to coach parents at every stage of the adoption process. Her personal experience as a single parent as well as her career as a teacher for over twenty years give her a rich foundation from which to counsel, coach, and consult.
She has written over 300 articles, stories, and devotionals in a variety of inspirational publications, some of which are Decision, Moody Monthly, Seek, Christian Single, Virtue, Power For Living, Christian Standard, Shining Star Magazine, and Purpose. She was a contributing author in Chicken Soup for the Adopted Soul, Thanks Dad published by Chicken Soup for the Soul, Everyday Grace, Everyday Miracle: Living The Life You Were Born To Live by Lorna Owens and When God Steps In: Stories of Everyday Grace by Bonnie Bruno. Sharon’s popular blog, Shining Moments, continues to inspire and encourage folks in discovering life the way it is meant to be.
She lives with her two daughters in Northern Virginia. Sharon loves the rocky coast of Maine, classical and worship music, blooming lilacs in springtime and a hot cup of coffee in the morning.
