Let’s Go Fly A Kite

Mar 21, 2012

It’s just been one of those days.

Problems to solve.

Errands to run.

In and out. In and out.

But in the midst of all the ordinary I am surrounded by this amazing beauty called Spring.

There is absolutely no way that the noise of continual challenges can distract me from

drinking in the beauty of all the blooming tulips and primroses and magnolias.

Strange how man can not see it.

It’s as if all of nature is shouting ALIVE but so many pass by oblivious to it.

Yesterday I cam home to the sight of branches of our gorgeous pink plum tree on the ground.

Seems like someone wanted them cut. While I wanted to take more pictures.

Strange, don’t you think? It hurt.

But life is filled with contradictions like that.

Some see holy ground while others walk on by.

Some hear the hush of angels’ wings while others walk on by.

Some stop and listen to the early morning birds singing their hearts out.

While others don’t even notice.

I pray for open ears and eyes and hearts.

I pray for the ability to notice what is invisible.

To lift the load of care from the one quietly burdened.

Spring is the time to push back from the routine and go fly a kite.

For just a few days the weather sparkles so give yourself permission to play.

Yes, grab your kite and go outside.

Bask in the beauty and drink in the wonder.

Walk outside late at night and count the stars.

Don’t put it off until tomorrow.

Find a child and play in the springtime.

Remember, happy are those who see the gift of Spring and enjoy it to their heart’s delight.
